Join us for the Second Annual “No Hops! Gruit Ale Contest”. Prizes awarded to the top three finishers!

Rules:

Ingredients & Style
• Target style is the historic “Grult Ale” which is not a BJCP category. For reference, this beer would qualify as Category 23 under BJCP.
• At least 50% malted grains. Meads are excluded. Braggots, on the other hand, would not be if ingredients include at least 50% malted grains.
• Zero hops permitted. The point of the competition is to experiment with botanicals (herbs, spices, etc) other than hops.

Submission
• Submission must be at least 64 oz. of beer.
• Submissions must be accompanied by a complete list of ingredients.
• All submissions must be delivered to Liam’s by Friday October 25th.
• Submission must be labeled with name, phone number, and email address of competitor.

Judging
• Hedonistic judging will be used. This is not a BJCP-sanctioned event. Judging will be conducted by a celebrity panel plus the over-21 attendees of the event.

Competitors
• Open to all brewers: amateur homebrewers as well as professional brewers.
